Honor A Colleague Program

The SBCA "Honor A Colleague" program provides an opportunity for SBCA members and the wider community to show their appreciation of individuals in the field of benefit-cost analysis who have made important contributions through scholarship, policy analysis, teaching, administration, mentorship, and so on.

Donated funds are used to support SBCA activities beyond what can be achieved by membership dues alone. This includes forums, workshops, webinars, and other SBCA-sponsored events; mechanisms to expand SBCA’s reach to young scholars in the field, including graduate students; and communication activities that bring attention to the value of economic evaluation methods to policymakers and the broader public.

Contributions are welcome to ongoing campaigns or prior campaigns. If you would like to start a new campaign, submit a nomination to SBCA Headquarters. The nomination will be reviewed by the SBCA Executive Committee and information on how to initiate a campaign will be provided. Once contributions on behalf of an honoree reach $5,000, an entry is added to the Honor A Colleague webpage which includes the honoree’s photo and bio as well as a list of campaign contributors. Campaigns stay open indefinitely so that additional contributions may be made.
