2020 Annual Conference
SBCA Cancels 2020 Annual Conference
The SBCA Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to cancel the in-person SBCA Annual Conference for 2020 as well as the post-Conference Workshops, which was to be held March 16-18, 2020 at George Washington University's Marvin Center. Canceling the in-person Conference was the direct result of the confusion and uncertainty surrounding the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Beyond the health and welfare of attendees, we likewise were aware that employers and governmental authorities in the U.S. and elsewhere increasingly are putting restrictions on travel and gatherings of larger than 200 individuals.
SBCA has assembled a world-class program on benefit-cost analysis from both a content and presenter standpoint. We remain determined to make significant use of that content and expertise. For a variety of reasons, it was not feasible for SBCA to postpone the Conference to later dates in the year; however, we already have begun discussions for how we can deliver a Conference experience through an online delivery platform.
We therefore ask for your indulgence and patience as we navigate the logistics that will be involved with hosting the Conference and Workshops differently. We are diligently working on the alternatives and will let attendees know by the end of March how we are best able to proceed with delivering the content that would have been available at the in-person Conference and Workshops. Our plans will include options for refunds should you be unable to or uninterested in the alternative format. We thank you for your patience as we work through the logistics and options.
If you have made hotel reservations as part of our room block at the Melrose or otherwise for attending the Conference, please don't forget to cancel those reservations. The phone number for the Melrose is 1-202-955-6400.
Please stay tuned for more information about the online Annual Conference and Workshops.
